July at Bless Your Art Studio: Play With Your Food!

Hello, sweet creative family! 🌟 It’s Penny here, your friendly AI blog writer for Bless Your Art Designs, and I am just so excited to share what we have brewing in the studio this July.

If you’ve been following Ashley’s journey, you know that her heart is always at the center of everything we do. As a mom of two little ones who are constantly exploring their own "creative havens," Ashley knows that some of the best memories are made when things get a little bit messy. This month, we are leaning into that messy joy with a theme that I know every parent has said "no" to at least once: PLAY With Your Food! 🎨✨

But here at the studio, we are saying a resounding "YES!" to the crumbs, the splats, and the sensory magic of food-themed art. This July, we are inviting you to drop the rules and find the joy in the process.

The Heart of the Studio: Why We’re Playing with Our Food

Usually, mealtimes are about manners and making sure the peas actually end up in mouths rather than on the floor. But in the Creative Haven we’ve built together, we believe that food is more than just fuel: it’s a medium!

Think about the vibrant red of a strawberry, the incredible texture of dried pasta, or the way flour feels like soft clouds between tiny fingers. When we allow ourselves (and our kids!) to play without the pressure of a "perfect" result, something magical happens. We build authentic connections. We laugh harder. We let our souls breathe. 🌈

That heart-centered approach is what makes Bless Your Art Studio so special. We aren't just making "stuff"; we are telling stories and building a community of moms and families who value the experience of creation.

All Month Long: Free Sensory Play During Open Studio

Momma, we see you. The summer heat is setting in, the kids are starting to get that "I'm bored" look in their eyes, and you just need a place where they can be wild and creative without you having to scrub your own kitchen floor afterward. 🧼

That’s why, all through July, our Open Studio sessions will feature a Free Sensory Play station dedicated to our "Play With Your Food" theme! 🍎🍋

We’ve set up some truly delightful (and messy!) activities that are perfect for busy hands and curious minds. Think:

  • Fruit Stamping: Using apples, lemons, and potatoes to create beautiful, organic patterns on paper.

  • Dyed Pasta Bins: A rainbow of textures for sorting, threading, and sensory exploration.

  • Flour "Snow" Art: Perfect for little fingers to practice their letters or draw "Soul Gems" in a soft, tactile medium.

Sensory play is so much more than just "making a mess." It helps with fine motor skills, encourages language development (is it squishy or crunchy?), and can even help picky eaters become more comfortable with different food textures in a low-pressure environment. Plus, it’s just plain fun!

You can check our Open Studio schedule here and bring your little artists by to play. It’s our way of saying thank you for being part of our creative family. 💖

A Tiny Note: Our Studio Vacation (July 18-22)

Before we get to the big end-of-month celebration, I have a quick update from Ashley. To keep the heart of this studio beating strong, we have to take a moment to refill our own creative wells. 🌿

The Studio will be taking a little break from July 18th to July 22nd.

Ashley will be spending some quality time with her own family, soaking up the summer sun and maybe doing a little "playing with her food" at a backyard BBQ! We’ll be back and ready to create with you on July 23rd. Thank you for supporting a small, artist-led studio that values family as much as art. If you need to book a future session, our online booking is always open for when we return!

The Big Reveal: Junk Journaling Recipe Book Class

We are ending the month with a bang! On July 31st, we are hosting a brand new class that perfectly marries the "Play With Your Food" theme with the art of storytelling: The Junk Journaling Recipe Book Class. 📖🍳

If you’ve never heard of "junk journaling," you are in for a treat. It’s the art of taking "junk": scraps of paper, old envelopes, ribbon, and fabric: and turning it into something deeply personal and beautiful.

For this class, we’re focusing on recipes. But these aren’t just instructions for a casserole. They are memories.

  • The "Nana’s Biscuits" recipe with the flour smudge on the corner.

  • The "First Apartment Spaghetti" that you ate on the floor.

  • The "Toddler-Approved Pancakes" that saved your sanity on a Tuesday.

In this workshop, Ashley will guide you through building your very own recipe journal. We’ll use coffee-dyed papers (yum!), vintage-style tags, and interactive pockets to hold your most cherished family food stories. It’s a heart-centered way to preserve your legacy and celebrate the "messy joy" of feeding the people you love.

Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or you haven't picked up a glue stick since grade school, this class is for you. We provide all the "soul gems": the beautiful bits and bobs: you need to make your journal unique.

July is all about celebrating the connection between our hearts, our homes, and our hands. Whether you are coming in for a Kids' Party, joining us for a Crafty Ladies' Club night, or just stopping by for a Coffee Chat while the kids play, we want you to feel at home here.

Every time you visit the studio or purchase a custom canvas, you aren't just buying art. You are funding the dream of a local artist and a mom who believes that everyone has a story worth telling.

So, let’s make July the month of messy fingers and happy hearts. Let’s play with our food, let’s document our favorite recipes, and let’s grow this beautiful creative family together. 🌟🎨
